Featuring stunning views over the city, the river, and the bridges that Porto is known for, these six apartments along the banks of the River Douro are nestled next to the Dom Luís Bridge. A double-decked metal arch designed by Teophile Seyrig, a student of Gustave Eiffel, the bridge opened in 1886, spans the river between Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Perched on a steep granite cliff, the UNESCO neighborhood of Vila Nova de Gaia is historically significant and protected so construction and renovation of the existing building required vision and sensitivity. The original 19th-century building had fallen into a state of disrepair and the subsequent renovations have altered its character without feeling completely out of place.

Constructed of concrete and steel, it’s in striking contrast to the traditional red-tile roof lines and the historic jumble of medieval architecture but creates a strong connection with the raw granite cliffs.

The dramatic setting inspired the names of these six minimalist, modern apartments, and design-wise, they couldn't be simpler. Bare wood, concrete, utilitarian furniture, no clutter, no-frills, with breathtaking views and an unbeatable location. CIDADE DAS PONTES

Porto is the second largest city in Portugal, and has a beautiful historical center, designated a World Heritage Site in 1996. According to Lonely Planet, "humble-yet-opulent Porto entices with its higgledy-piggledy medieval centre, divine food and wine, and charismatic locals."

But there's more to the city than its past. Buildings like Álvaro Siza Vieira’s minimalist Museu de Arte Contemporânea and Rem Koolhaas’ Casa da Música bring the city into the 21st century. It's a city full of public art and spirited nightlife. Yet it's only minutes from the beach town of Foz do Douro, the coastal path and sandy beaches.
